Fertility is complex.

Your therapist should understand that.

Philosophy & Approach

I believe life is a journey shaped by both choice and circumstance, and that we are always learning —about others, ourselves, and the world— along the way.

Counseling offers a space to gain clarity—to understand what has shaped you, what feels essential, and what you want to carry forward. My role is to walk alongside you, listen closely, and help you connect with your values, your voice, and your vision for what comes next.

My practice is informed, in part, by my own long fertility journey, which deepened my understanding of the emotional complexity people face. I offer support across the many stages—questions, testing, treatment decisions, waiting periods, procedures, loss, and the quieter in-between moments.

My aim is to provide a steady, grounded space for reflection, emotional processing, and meaningful conversation, whether you are navigating this individually or with a partner. I primarily use narrative therapy, along with other approaches tailored to each client’s goals and needs.

Professional Background

My professional career has been a river journey of its own—beginning with my Master’s degree in Counseling in 2004 and continuing through more than two decades of work supporting adults through transition, decision-making, and emotionally complex experiences. I have worked closely with individuals, couples, and families in moments of uncertainty, helping them reflect on what has shaped them, clarify what matters most, and determine meaningful next steps.

Across all of my roles, I have remained a steady, grounding presence for people navigating difficult conversations.

These experiences shape my clinical approach today, allowing me to combine empathy with practical tools and a deep respect for each person’s unique path—especially when that path is unfolding in unexpected ways.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Communication from DePauw University (IN), a Masters degree in Counseling from Indiana State University, and a Doctorate in Education from DePaul University (IL).

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Ohio and currently practice under the supervision of Mark Kaplafka, LPCC-S.
